What is Ankara Fabric......The Origin!

African Fabric print, called Ankara by many cultures in West Africa, can be seen as inspiration in many of today's high fashion. The fabric is made of cotton and is associated with many African countries because of the patterns that resemble tribal markings. Although the fabric was in fact originally made in Europe its origins is considered to be Africa.Ankara Fabric was known as Dutch wax print. It was originally manufactured by the Dutch for the Indonesian Fabric market. But, the fabric gained more attention from the people of West Africa than the Indonesians.
